BUCYRUS--Services were held
at noon today at the Wise funeral
home here for Christian P. Gaa,
73, a former Bucyrus hardware
owner, who died Friday in Detroit,
where he had live 18 years.
A native of Germany, Mr. Gaa
was machine shop foreman at the
New York Central Railroad yards
during World War I and operated
a hardware store from 1920 to
1929. He served two years as
president of the Bucyrus City
council. In Detroit, he was oper-
ating a real estate agency at the
time of his death.
Mr. Gaa was a member or the
Eagles, Elks, Moose and Royal
Arcanum lodges of Bucyrus. He
was also a member of the consis-
tory of St. John's Reformed
church while living in Bucyrus.
Surviving are his widow, Carrie;
two sons, Donald, Detroit; Garold,
New York City; three daughters,
Mrs. Robert Bogan, Detroit; Mrs.
Earl H. Miller, Cleveland, and
Mrs. Cordelia Carver, Bucyrus; a
sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Benefield,
Gary, Ind.; half-sister, Mrs. Mary
Shumaker, Gary, and three half-
brothers, Mike, George and Carl,
Scheniel, all of Bucyrus.
